This notes has a script that locks stats for several Oracle tables.

Has anyone implemneted this script in 11g? Are any concerns/warnings?

And is it realy necessay if we run brtools stats every night?

Hi,

you have to apply this note to lock statistics for particular tables, like RFC and Update related tables.

You have to schedule collection for statistics every day on a production system.

Consider that statistics collection for tables is triggered only if the table has been modified more than a threshold. Default threshold is 50%. In this way, statistics for table with few modification will not be collected.

Why do I want to lock the stats on these tables.
