ROS, cFolders & SRM

Dear Experts

We are implementing SRM 701, SUS (with ROS) & integrated with cFolders for two envelope bidding.

When a new supplier is registered & accepted in the SUS system; the supplier is sent an email asking to create his own user ID.

Supplier creates his own user ID sucessfully. This new user ID gets created in the SRM system and the SUS system without an issue. Supplier has choose his own role in the SUS system but for SRM system default the user Role to "Bidder" role only.

We have implemented Bidding in the SRM system. We have 3 major problems starting from here.

1. The Roles in the SRM system is not sufficient for the supplier to respond to a Bid. We need to add additional roles to allow him to create a bid response. Please advice if there is a way to configure or customize the roles to be added in SRM  at the time of system creating the user ID.

2. When the supplier logs in to the portal, he gets a message "No portal Roles assigned". Technically this should also be done automatically but it does not do it and we need to manually add this role in the portal. Could you please propose any consulting solution to this issue.

3. System creates the user ID in the SRM system and SUS system for suppliers but it does not create in the cFolder system. Without which the supplier is unable to access the cFolder system. I have raised a SAP OSS for this and there is no proper response on this. If any of you have made a custom solution for this, or please advice if you have a configuration for this to be done.

In the past Nikhil & various other consultants has helped us in various issues and it would be great if you will be able to give a advice on the above

Thanks

Hi

1. The Roles in the SRM system is not sufficient for the supplier to respond to a Bid. We need to add additional roles to allow him to create a bid response. Please advice if there is a way to configure or customize the roles to be added in SRM  at the time of system creating the user ID.

Ans : For  a supplier to  respond a Bid the bidder role to be assign in the Portal, since the Bidder is not going to access SRM GUI. So ask your portal team to assign the bidder role to the supplier.

standard bidder role  is sufficient . No need  of any other role.

2. When the supplier logs in to the portal, he gets a message "No portal Roles assigned". Technically this should also be done automatically but it does not do it and we need to manually add this role in the portal. Could you please propose any consulting solution to this issue.

Ans : It is very clear  from your ? that there is no portal roles assigned to the bidder in the  portal .

check this thread ; http://scn.sap.com/thread/1547442

role for bidder in portal

SAP SRM: Bidder Locate this document in the navigation structure

Role Role: /SAPSRM/BIDDER

Corresponding Portal role: Bidder (com.sap.pct.srm.core.ro_bidder)

Issue 1 & Issue 3 are sorted out myself by configuration. Issue 2 is still open.

Issue 2: When the supplier logs in to the portal, he gets a message "No portal Roles assigned". Technically this should also be done automatically but it does not do it and we need to manually add this role in the portal. Could you please propose any consulting solution to this issue.

@ Gopinath: In reality the supplier registers himself & all the user ID's (SRM/SUS/cFolder) required are created by the system automatically. But he will not be able to respond to Bid until he is given the portal roles manually. If you read again the question, question is about "how to assign the portal roles" automatically? This is a pain to supplier as we will have to log a ticket to assign the portal roles & there is no point to say "ROS" is fully automatic. I am sure there will be a consulting solution for this issue.

I want to know if anyone have something like http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/45/60a5f35a643be0e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm between SRM and EP.

Issue solved. Used the SAP standard group in the enterprise portal.

Thank you.
