MaxDB restore using Netbackup

Hi

We have a system that crashed completely, and we only have the system data backup on tape. There unfortunately was no OS, SAP or MaxDB executables backed up. The backup history is gone. I have since then reinstalled the SAP system and i now want to recover the backup from tape.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this to work? I have tried recovering using the MaxDB GUI, using the exact same medium name, but it does not pick up the netbackup backup.

MaxDB version is 7.8.01.14

Backup tool is Netbackup

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Look in the following MaxDB log files (with MaxDB Database Studio e.g.) and locate the exact error which prevents your restore:
- External Backup Log

- Database Errors

- Database Messages

I would also update to the current version 7.8.02.28 and set the recommended parameters before running the next restore.
