Capacity calculation in snp

Experts,

    In our scenario we are producing the same items in multiple production units in the same plant for the same in SAP multiple routing are activated for rough cut capacity calculation.We will use alternate machine to produce the same item in different months,ie,if an item A can be produced in 3 different machines B,C &D . The issue with rough cut capacity planning is that the system selects the default routing for capacity calculation and ignore the other routing exists but what we need is system should ask us before calculating the capacity in default routing . How to solve it,pls advise.

Hi Vijesh,

Can I assume your resources B, C, & D are exclusively used to process product A? In that case, you can manipulate the resource's capacity variant so that a given alternative resource is available along with primary and the rest are not available (i.e. available capacity 0 hours).

If multiple products share the same resource for an activity, then it is complicated. In either case, SNP does not allow you to choose the source of supply (to drive capacity requirements).
