Create reports for iPad with Webi

Hello,

I'm trying to create some reports for the iPad with Web Intelligence 14.0.2. I'm using the SAP BusinessObjects Mobile 4.1.0 Application.

I'm especially interested in the new features added to Version 4.1.0. I tried to add some sections and input controls to some simple reports.

The report with the sections looks like this:

And that's what I get on the iPad:

But this should work according to the information on iTunes:

What’s New in Version 4.1.0

· Integration with Sybase Unwired Platform

· Support of SAP Crystal Reports content

· Support of SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence functions, like drill, sections, input controls

· Integration with the SAP StreamWork application for improved collaboration

· Annotation capabilities for richer collaboration

· Improved security options, like document time-to-live, and disablement of password and data saving

· Data overlay on Google maps

What could I do to get the new functions working on the iPad?

I already checked the following docs:

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/410_mobiPad_rn_en.pdf

Kind regards,

Evangelos

Hello Evangelos,

After some trial and error i managed to get it working. See below some checks and steps which needs to be done before it will work.

1. Check the patch version of your SBOJ BI Enterprise. Only patch 13 onwards will be able to display in section.

2. After you install the patch 13, make sure you also update the mobile service war file;

a) Copy the file MobileBIService.war from SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.0 SPXX: [Install directory]\Mobile14\Client, to [Tomcat home directory]\webapps.

3. Locate the folder MobileBIService in your [Tomcat home directory]\webapps and delete it. A new one will be generated once you logon via your iPad again.

By performing the above steps i'm able to display sections via SAP BO Mobile BI 4.10 on my iPad.

Let me know if this works for you.

Could you confirm that you have FeaturePack 3 to fix the problem? I thought FP3 not been released.

Hello,

look at the second row on page 11:

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/410_mobiPad_admin_en.pdf

There you can see what is needed to get the new functions in 4.1 working.

One posibility is the FP3.

Hello,

I'm having the same issue as well. I upgrade the BO Enterprise Server to SP02 patch 14 and still were not able to show sections. Any help appreciated.

Hello,

the only way I found to bypass this issue is with a promt filter in the queries.

The result is almost the same. The sections would be more elegant. I would be very glad if someone could help.
