Thanks Rajesh and Atul for your support.  We have resolved the issue.  We have replaced the licence key.

Hi

We are experiencing the same issue. Here's what happened.

We went to client site armed with BO Enterprise XI 3.1 sp5 install files and BIAR file.

We uninstalled their SP2 version.

We installed the newer version.

The license key we had genearted didn't work so we generated another but this was a named user license. (at the client's, we were able to add a user who could run the reports fine)

Back in the office, we generated another CPU license and sent it to client. He was able to add 2 users (which he couldn't do before with named user license).

The 2 users both receive the error in Infoview "Cannot perform operation, no valid license found".

Restarted SIA in the CCM, no change.

Deleted users and added again, no change.

I noted that after installation, WAR files were re-deployed. Xcelsius not installed (we implement dashboards as flash in Infoview).

Looked at the license in the CMC, looks fine, nothing in expiration, unlimited in others and processors 1.

Please help!

Hi,

Please follow the below steps.

Solving this problem is actually quite simple and involves copying the mentioned DLL file to Xcelsius's installation directory.

Step 1

Navigate to the following directory path, under the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation directory:

[BOInstallDirectory]\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86

Where [BOInstallDirectory] is replaced with the BusinessObjects Enterprise root installation directory. Note that this path is valid for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3. If you have BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2, you will probably need to navigate to the following installation directory instead:

[BOInstallDirectory]\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86

Step 2

Find the keydecoder.dll file and copy it to your Xcelsius' root installation directory.

Now you will probably wonder what the cause of this error is. More than likely, this error will only ever occur if you have BusinessObjects Enterprise and Xcelsius installed on the same machine and it's related with the way the DLL file is loaded.

We have not personally verified this, but some folks at SAP told us that it is a bug with the Xcelsius installer. The installer detects that BusinessObjects Enterprise is installed and so it does not extract the keydecoder.dll file. Xcelsius however needs this file, and when it starts up, it fails when it cannot find it.

Hello Rajesh,

Thanks for your reply.

Just wanted to share few points with you.

1. We have not installed Xcelcius in our BOBJ Server

2. Error which we are getting is when we are accessing WEBI reports from IPAD

3. As you suggested, keydecoder.dll is there in BOBJ installation directory

Hi Tarun,

You can check the license keys which are present in business obects.

check if they have not expired?

do you get this error while trying to access report from the server machine?

Thanks Atul,

We do have checked the license key (note we have only one key in the CMC), it is valid.

Yes, we are getting this error while accessing reports directly from the server.  We can see the reports on IPAD screen, this errors comes when we want to download reports on IPAD.  We are using BOXI 4.0(on server) with SAP BusinessObjects mobile 4.1.0(on IPAD) and we are using intranet connection to access BOBJ Server.

We are also able to run the same reports through BI launch Pad and local BOBJ Client intalled on my machine.

Hi tarun,

if i m correct, did you mention that these reports fail on the server also. However, you dont get this error while running sample reports ?

Can you restart your SIA once and try to establish a new connection from ipad and try again.

Check what does your license key mention. How many users? or sessions are allowed?

also, you must be trying with administrator id right?

Let me know,

Regards,

Atul
