Hello,
I have never had problems with printing before on my PC but suddenly when I click on print (as I did numerous times before), I suddenly get this:
(11:47:38) Icon DLL loaded.
(11:47:38)
(11:47:38) Network Communication via SAP-NiLib
(11:47:38) Hostname: 89374pc
(11:47:38) IP Address: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
(11:47:38)
(11:47:38) SAPLPD Version 6.29 for Windows/NT (OPT) is listening
(11:47:38) OS-Info: version = 5.1, build = 0/2600, text =
(11:47:38) Copyright © 1992-2001 SAP AG
(11:47:38)
and it suddenly stops without any reason..
I tried to log from my colegues PC (which is in same office), with my username and password and I did same as I always do, and it print without any problems. I must note that when I print any info from Notepad, Word, Excel etc from my PC it prints any document without any problems so I guess only problem is in SAP system?
Any help is appreciated and many thanks in advance for prompt replies!
Cheers;)
Sam
Thank you all very much for help.
Problem solved: reason why this computer couldn't print is because SAPLPD was blocked by firewall, unbealivable
All the best,
Sam

Hello,
Which access method are you using? I assume it's F
You can use the new access method G for frontend printing without saplpd. See
therefore the SAP note 821519.

David

Hello David,
Thank you for prompt reply, I really appreciate it.
Since I have a lot to learn yet, I will have to ask you to explain me this:
- how can find out which method I am currently using? I assume it is F but how can I check that info?
- how can I "switch" to method G, whioch transaction will I use?
- I am sure that on my PC is old version of SAP GUI, perhaps best soulution would be just to install new version of SAP GUI?
Thank you!
All the best,
Sam
Hi David,
Unfortunatly as end user I don't have access to SPAD transaction (on client 400) so I can't do nothing about that except to ask SAP consultant to aproove me authorisation for this transaction.
Regarding your first part of reply:
"Firstly you need to check the output device you used."
How/Where can I check this? Also transaction SPAD t-code?
I have one more question:
How come that current method worked ( for whole 3 years without any problems) till now and then suddenly stoped? Is there any way to fix this without changing access method?
Thank you!
Hello,
It seams that there is nothing wrong with the printer because when I print anything from any other program (for example Notepad, Word, Excel etc), printer works like a charm without any problems. Only when I print from SAP, then I have this problem.
I also ,must note this:
"I tried to log from my colegues PC (which is in same office), with my username and password and I did same as I always do, and it print without any problems."
Thath's even more wierd...
Hello,
It sounds like it's the sap print service running on the one computer with a problem. If the SAP printer is a type 'S' it needs either SAPLpd or SAPSprint to be running on the computer to handle communication between SAP and the Windows print spooler. SAPLpd is long out of support (and from the original error message it looks like what that computer is running). Remove SAPlpd and install a current version of SAPSprint.
Regards,
Michael
Hello,
You can download it for free from the SAP Marketplace https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/support, just look for SAPSprint.
Regards,
Michael
Any help-suggestion is appreciated!

Sam
