Material determination

Hi Experts,

i have a Query , Material determination should be based of Availability of stock wise.

Ex:- When i place the material in the sales order A , If A  material is not available in stock then if B material is available in stock it should take B item instead of A Material.

Please tell us how to customize , Your quick response would be highly appreciated.

You need to use condition technique -->

IMG➢ Sales And Distribution ➢Basic Functions ➢ Material Determination ➢ Maintain Prerequisites For Material Determination

1. Create condition Record for condition type A001--> SPRO ➢ Logistics ➢ Sales And Distribution ➢ Master Data ➢ Products ➢ Material Determination ➢ Create

It allows maintaining more than one substitute in your material record.

If ‘Alternative material’ is checked, this means that more than one substitute material has been maintained for the entered material.

Double click the line  - Maintain all the alternative materials in the sequence in which you want them to be determined in the sales order.

When the MRP Ind. box was selected for any material , then the shortfall for quantities after the successful substitution run was reported for that material else it is reported for the first material.

If an order comes for material X, it should first deplete the available stock for material X and then
start substituting alternative material X1. During this process, if any shortfall is encountered, transfer it to planning for the alternate material X1.

In your case , you need to check this checkbox .

2. Assign this condition ttype to material determination procedure ( OV13 )

3. Assign Material Determination Procedure to Sales Document Types – ( OV14 ) .
