what is the similar client utility in SAP web as, has any one got any idea
Hi Rohit,
Have a look at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/508d47ba-3878-2910-2aa1-ed752063...
This is an example how to use application clients in SAP AS Java EE 5.
Kind regards

Hi martin,
that wold surely help me , however i will be using it as last resort . Actually i want to know is there any such exisiting Java ee application client utility provided by sap that can be directly used.
i mean any bat file or anything , similar to LaunchClient.bat file provided by WebSphere
Hi Rohit,
There is no such tool that comes with the AS, but it is very easy to extract it from the Ant file:
setlocal
set USERNAME=myuser
set PASSWORD=mypasswd
set JNDI_FACTORY=com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl
set PROVIDER_URL=localhost:56004
set SID=N51
set JC_NUMBER=60
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\usr\sap\%SID%\JC%JC_NUMBER%\j2ee\j2eeclient\sap.comtcexception~impl.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\usr\sap\%SID%\JC%JC_NUMBER%\j2ee\j2eeclient\sap.comtcjeclientlibimpl.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\usr\sap\%SID%\JC%JC_NUMBER%\j2ee\j2eeclient\sap.comtcloggingjavaimpl.jar
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%2
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%3
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%4
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%5
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%6
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%7
set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%8
java com.sap.engine.services.appclient.client.Launcher -name %1 -U%USERNAME% -P%PASSWORD% -F%JNDI_FACTORY% -H%PROVIDER_URL%
endlocal
and the usage is:
appclient.bat applicationName first_additional.jar second_additional.jar
where first_additional.jar and second_additional.jar are jars that should be in the CLASSPATH of your client application. Such additional jars are: the <java> and <ejb> modules from application.xml
Kind regards
Martin
