Product category description

Hello Experts,

We have SRM 4.0 Classic scenario. ECC backend.

While the product categories / Material groups are replicated from backend to EBP SRM, the Product Category description also gets transferred from backend.

But as we see, only short description (V023-WGBEZ) is getting transfered. And hence while creating SC, Product category search help only displays this short description (COMM_CATEGORYT-CATEGORY_TEXT).

Is there any way by which we can replicate long description of product categories (V023-WGBEZ60) from backend to EBP. Also would it be reflected in search help in EBP? 

Or making RFC call and picking up long description from backend at runtime and displaying in search help is only option in this case? If it is, Which BAdi etc can be used?

Hello,

This is the standard funcionality.
Just short texts are downloaded from MM product master and these are read and displayed in the product master.

Check note 519776. It is an old note and valid to SRM system.
PO texts do not have use in SRM product master.
