Making Permissions mandatory in two envelope bidding

Dear Friends,

We are using two envelope bidding process in SRM 7.01.

When the purchaser create the bid, he enters the tender committee members in the "Permission" tab.

Adding the users in the permissions tab is optional. It is giving warning message when we save without filling the permission tab.

We want to make it mandatory.

We changed the "influence message control" in cross application basic setting from "W" to "E".

But still it is not getting mandatory.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hello Malay,

                   As far as I know you are getting the error message after changing in the "influence message control" in cross application basic setting from "W" to "E". it will allow you to save the bid with error message buy won't allow you to publish.

                                              So unless you clear the error message you can not publish the RFX.So indirectly it is solving your purpose(To clear the error message user has to enter a value in permissions tab).what ever you did is the correct process.No need to make that permission field mandatory.

Hi Sabya,

Thank you for your response.

We changed the warning message to error to prevent the bid to get published if the Permissions are not maintained.

Now although we changed to error the bid is getting published without the Permissions maintained.

Please help if there is some other way to prevent it to happen.

Hello Malay,

please  check if such fields are filled through BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI.

In metadata you can set the field as mandatory, but you should implement the badi to validate the field content.
