What is alternation condition base value? can u please explain with example.

Alternative condition base value is a formula assigned to a condition type

in order to promote an alternative base value for the calculation of a value.

Example:

one can ujse a formula that uses a subtotal may be 4,modify it such that it should use 2.

Example

An absolute header discount is, for example, distributed in the standard system according to the cumulative value of the items.

If the system, however, distributes the absolute header discount according to volume, a header discount of $30 results in the following discounts:

Item Value Volume Discount

Stand. disc. Volume disc.

1 $1000 2 cbm $20 $10

2 $500 4 cbm $10 $20

Example : One can specify a formula that uses a subtotal such as 4,from the subtotal field.modify it slightly such as dividing by 2 and then using the resultant value as a base value for the condition type.

You know that whenever you are customizing a condition type you assign a condition basis, which means the value is suggested on what basis(weight, volume, amount etc.).

In case when for a exceptional reason you want to use different basis for calculation of the condition record, you would enter a value here that will be different from that maintained in the customizing of the condition type.

Hi Rajesh,

Alternate base condition value is used in the cases where you a write a routine i front of your condition type if a particular criteria satisfies then instead of 100 as base value 90 will be used.

Consider an example that if the value of order is more than 10000 then base value has to be 1000 otherwise it has to be 990.

hi,

here exactly ur chaging the base value, like if u take the ex of R100 the condition type the routine used in alt cond base value will make the condition as 100% discount.
