Hi,
I get the below error in PI7.3 production environment but it is working fine in PI7.3 assurance. We upgraded PI system from version 7.1 to 7.3. But we did test after the PI quality upgrade and it working PI7.3 Quality System. This is a email scenario where i send mail with attachment.
MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.srt.BubbleException: Failed to call the endpoint [null "null"]; nested exception caused by: java.io.IOException: server does not support PLAIN or LOGIN authentication
Hello,
Try the following:
- make sure that "Configure User Authentication" option is checked in communication channel.
- leave the 'User' and 'Password' fields empty
- then save and activate the channel and retry the scenario.
Regards
Mark

Dear Rajgopal
We got the same error.
Ask the IT team to allow your smtp server to send emails from PI.
Share your PI production ip with them and ensure smtp can relay mails from PI production.

Hi Michal,

Hi Mark,
After I got the reply from you, I tried your suggestion to my suprise it worked in PI quality and PI producution system. Thanks a lot. If you have the answer, Please let me know how it is working without the user id and password. Also I would go back to Network ppl to find what they changed in the mail server.
Hi Baskar,Solasu and Monika,

hi,
>>>server does not support PLAIN or LOGIN authentication
there must be something wrong in the e-mail server then - do you use the same e-mail server
for TEST and PRD ? if not check the difference between the two
