Difference in value under PO history tab of PO and CJI3 report.

hello experts,

                  In a PO under PO history tab i found amount as 45 laks as "Tr./Ev. Goods receipt" (dated on 31.03.2012)but when I checked in CJI3 report(date 31.03.2012) it shows a value of 41 laks i.e. 4 laks less from the MIGO amount . please suggest why there is a difference of such amount?

Please help.

Hi Rao,

         I checked it all. And m stuck with point 6 only. there is no cost element category maintained for this G/L account.System says that it is a balance sheet account. Also, in FK03 when i enter this G/L ,system gives error as "Cost element 2003100 does not exist in controlling area 1000"

I am not getting from where this error is coming....

Hi

Generally cost elements will not be created for balance sheet GL Accounts.

Suppose if it is inventory and material accounts then it will required.

               Then what should be by modus-operandi to resolve the issue.

Do i need to create a corresponding cost element for this G/L ? But the same G/L is used many times already why the error is coming only in this case..?

please suggest...

Hi

I cannot say the problem has occured due to this problem. Check all line items in this GR created with same GL Account or different?. If created with same GL Account why 4 lacks amount is showing as different? Some thing else....

Have you indentified 4 lacks different amount document no?.

I would like to suggest check all the parameters i.e., GR posting document no, service line items, Account assignment details, CJI3 posting details etc., Also check Is there any partial settlement happened?. Generally system will not behave like this.

Cost elements are the cost-relevant items of a chart of accounts and are used to record all costs within the whole cost accounting system. Generally P&L Accounts, inventory accounts and material accounts will be maintained as cost elements. Check with same your FI person.

Hi Rao,

        I checked thoroughly and found that 45 laks is Goods receipt value and 41 laks is Goods issue value(both postings are with same quantity)..  But it's confusing .What role CJI3 report is playing here ? Is there any other report  which can show me the 45 laks value..?

Hi Ankur

Please check the below metioned points;

1. Hope this PO is service PO.

2. Check the PO history 45 lakhs details (WBS element details, GR doc no)

3. Check If any line item is cancelled

4. In CJI3 report check it from posting date and To posting date details

5. Check any line item created with without WBS element.

6. Check with Line item GL Account and its cost element category

Check all the above mentioned points thoroughly and let me know if any.

Hi,

   Please check whether you have created Cost Element of Category 90 Corresponding to Inventory G/L mentioned in PO.

Is it necessary to maintain cost element category 90 to corresponding project stock GL account? i dont think so....
