Displaying Historical PA20 Data in Delimited Org Units.

Hi a solution to this would be much appreciated!

In PPOME the current Org Structure utilised at present groups employees by cost centre into org units, i.e. a cost centre effectively IS an org unit and those employees linked to the org unit all have the same cost centre.

The new structure due to go in place group’s employees by their manager, so a manager has an org unit created for him/her and all the employees within that org unit will report to him/her. The new structure has all new org units and all new positions, so all employees move on a particular date from their old position to a new position in a new org unit. The old positions will be delimited on their transfer date, the old org units will be delimited after all employees have been moved and all positions within the old org units have been delimited, i.e. the old org unit no longer contains any active employees.

The issue that has arisen is that certain employees require display access to historical PA20 data via the structural authorisation tables OOSP (T77PR) and OOSB (T77UA).

The only solution that has been suggested is adding the old Org Unit ID alongside the new Org Unit ID in the new structural authorisation profile in OOSP (T77PR) with the evaluation path O-S-P.

The new structural profile would therefore give access via PA20 to the historical and new data.

Can anybody suggest a way of users accessing the historical data without having to include the old organisational unit with the evaluation path O-S-P in the structural profile?

Hi Paul,

I don't think there is a better option than including the old org units in user's structural profiles & maintaining a delimited OM relationship between the old org units and new positions of users in order to give them display access to historical data. Introducing any customization will increase the maintenance in future and maynot provide a foolproof granularity in controls as structural authorization security. Ensure that while creating the structural profiles for historical data access, the 'period' is appropriately maintained to provide access to data of any past date.

Thanks,

Sandipan
