Hi Gurus,
I have some confusion around SAP memory areas - Roll Area, Page area, Extended memory and Heap memory.
Can someone tell me clear distinction between these areas.
Are all these areas from SAP Swap space? ans Swap space is from hard disk rite?
When some WP is using heap memory, it is actually using the memory from hard disk of that server, rite? If so, even the extended memory is from swap space, which means that memory is from hard disk. So why the beahaviour of extended memory area is different from heap memory.
As i have lot of confusion on these areas, i may sound meaningless, but can you please clarity me on these areas.

Hello Ram,
if the memory is taken from the Swap space or from main memory is decided by the Operating System not by SAP.
Heap memory is local memory only used by one work process, Extended memory is shared memory for all the work processes.
