Migrating SAP 4.6c SR2 to 4.6c SR2 32-bit to 64-bit Oracle on Windows 2003

Hi,

I have to plan a migration to a new 64-bit HW platform.

The software version would remain the same (SAP, ORACLE & Windows).

Would like know the steps involved in doing so.

My understanding is

a) Install the new OS

b) Install Oracle 9.2.0 (64Bit)

c) Install sap 4.6c SR2 with 64 bit kernel

d) Than do a Homogeneous system copy. (BACKUP RESTORE using BRBACKUP)

But not sure if I am suppose to do any changes on the DB level.

Regards

Pritam

you are right as long as the 64 Bit Platform is Itanium.

If you intend to migrate to X86_64 follow note<a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/976457">976457</a>
