Hi friends,
Can anybody throw some light on business benefits of PI over ABAP interfaces?
Thanks in advance,
Srini.
Hi,
- central monitoring for all systems
- central interface development for all systems
- java adapters
for more details please have a look at PI presentations they always show things like that at the beginning,

PI offers a much greater flexibility to connect SAP to various non-SAP systems using different protocols like file, jdbc, soap etc. it provides a monitoring window to check for the flowing messages. provides options like sending a msg to multiple receivers, have different sections like design, configuration, sld, runtime workbench for various purposes.
pi offers the feature of ccBPM to work on stateful processing of messages.

HI Srinivas,
There are a lot of them, for example
1. You have your messages exchange centraliced
2. You could use a lot of adapaters independient of SAP communication technology.
3. You could build your webservice and offer an point to communication even you are not end up the abap development.
4. You could communicate no-SAP systems.
5. You have a complete mechanisms of development, monitoring and debbugging.
Etc
