EORI Numbers for European Entities

Hi Gurus,

Our client is based out of Europe. They want the EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) value to be made as a Mandatory field in Vendor and Customer Master. Now we couldnt find such configuration to enable the field or to make it enter in some relevant fields. Is there a configuration to make the field visible and Mandatory? Is there a way that we can do to enable this field? Did anybody has worked on this situation? Please share your insights in this. We are in ECC 6.0 and we dont have SAP-GTS.
