MSGTYP ALEREQ; How to Use

Hello All,

I have managed to get the ALEAUD functionality to work quite fine but that means all recipient systems periodically sending status IDOCs to the sending system. I thought to have read somewhere that the sending system can request the status in receiving systems using ALEREQ. Unfortunately I cannot find anything anywhere regarding the use in an internet search, sap help, sap notes or here. Does anyone have experince with ALEREQ?

Hi David,

you will find some more information searching for ALEREQ01 (BasIDoc type).

for example:

Thank you Timm,

I had a completely different idea regarding the use of ALEREQ. Thanks alot for your link. ALEREQ is not the solution for what I thought I could use it for but I shall keep it in mind for when a suitable scenario comes up.
