Hi All,
I have some questions about EDI processing in XI.
If we use seeburger adapter, do we need to write custom mapping program (eg: 850 to ORDERS) or adapter itself generate the mapping?
How do we split the message is it Interchange level or Transaction level? How seeburger is going to handle this?
Can anyone please forward me the related documents if you have about seeburger adapter?
Please explain me one complete scenario EDI 2 IDOC using Seeburger adapter.
What are the other alternatives to seeburger adapter?
Hi Santhosh,
This is the reason i have suggested you to post in SDN, i hope, u hv got a better idea.

Hi,
The SeeBurger Adapter itself will handle the conversion of the EDI data into XML and viceversa. The SeBurger Adapter will create a XML message corresponding to the EDI Format you are using. This will be a standrard XMl format and you will need to have a mapping to map this XML to your Order Idoc format.
But, you need not worry about the creation of the XML from the EDI data fromat.
To understand EDI and XI,
Alternatives to SeeBurger EDI adapters is to use ItemFieldCOnversion Agent to convert the EDI data into XML and vice versa.
Conversion Agent thogh does not support all EDI formats though. For info on COnversion Agent , look into this link,

Hi Bhavesh,
So you mean it will convert only EDI-EDI(XML). to convert this we need to write an external mapping program which inturn converts as IDOC(XML). Please confirm me with this.
That mapping we write in mapping tool or seeburger provides any tool for that?
The link you attached, I'm not able to see this from my browser can you please attach again if you don't mind.
Thanks a lot Bhavesh for your response.
Santhosh.
Santhosh,

I have not worked on SeeBurger EDI and so cannot give you confirmation on this. But, the way I have understood this, the above understanding is correct.
For the link, search on SDN with , Library + "EDI and XI " and you will find the document called "Taking Care of Business - EDI and XI " .
