Hi,

How can we process the following scenarios?

1) The sales order line item is for a drop ship item with a price on it. We are infact receiving this item free of charge from the vendor therefore we have created a drop ship free purchase order with no invoice receipt. After the customer receives the item, we post a GR on the drop ship PO. But we are not able to create the billing document to invoice the customer as according to the following note:  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/4d/2b91be43ad11d189410000e829fbbd/content.htm
"The invoice receipt is necessary before a billing document can be created in SD"

In this scenario how will we bill the customer and close the sales order line item?

2) The drop ship sales order line item is free of charge. We are also receiving it free from the vendor and therefore we have created a drop ship free purchase order with no invoice receipt. After the customer receives the item, we post a GR on the drop ship PO. As it is free, we will not invoice the customer but the sales order line has status as Open.

How can we close the sales order line?

Sincerely,

Nicky

as it is written in the docu for standard third party business, you have to have an invoice posted to trigger the billing.

Options:

Change the standard 3rd party process (new document type) from invoice related to goods receipt related  third party process.

post a fake invoice in MIRO- do the billing in SD - cancel the fake invoice (you probably must not have an indicator for free item in the PO then)

change the process. do not use third party process in case of free deliveries, create it as standard sales order, create as well a standard PO (for free)    do logical receipts  and logical issues.
