Recomanded Certificates for SSL communication

Former Member

Hi Experts

we have interface third party -----SAP PI-------SAP

here SAP PI has provided the webservice to thirdparty for sending request & getting response

we have provided the "Selfsigned" server certificate at ABAP stack level for the SSL communication to the third party.

we havent used third party certificate here as they wont provide their certificate to SAP PI.

we did the test in our dev & QA all interfaces were working fine.

can we use "selfsigned" certificates for SSL communication?

Hi Mahesh,

You will not get any error because of a  selfsigned certificate in any enviroment, But for more security SAP always recommend for  third party certificate. You can use  selfsigned certificate for communicate system.
