Item category change in material determination

Hi All,

Am using 2+ level of material determination, material A getting replaced by Material A first & then consumes material B.

in such situation i have a TAPA line (in main item) followed by a TAN line in the sub item.\

now that i need to give a free of charge for this scenario such if material A determines (TAPA Line) Material A in (TAN) sub item, then i wish to change the item category as TANN for the sub item.

but being greyed out, am unable to change the item category, how can this situation be addressed, please let me know.

For your requirement,
Maintain non NORM item cat group for your Material A, say ZNOR in your material master Sales:Sales Org2 View.

And accordingly, do a Item Cat determination, say,

Sales Doc Type -	Item Cat Grp -	Def Item Cat Group.
OR -	ZNOR -	TANN

hi JP, thanks for the clarification, the same material can also go as regular TAN for some customers, changing to TANN is rare happening & this might involve material master data changes, which the user may not have access.

Then in that case you can use Customer Material Information record(CMIR - TCode VD51).

Where you can maintain Item Usage as FREE for those particular Customer & Material Combination.

And also have look on your Item Cat Determination.

OR	NORM -	FREE -	TANN
