Hi Gurus,
Planning horizon:
In OPPQ we define number of days.
Eg: Plant 2xxx. Planning horizon = 100 days.
Now, I'm expecting that if I have Planned indep requirements/sales orders beyond 100 days, MRP Run will not generate any planned orders/purchase requisitions.
TCode: MD61. created PIRs - 100 qty 03/05/2014, 03/05/2015
TCode: MD02 - Ran MRP.
TCode: MD04 - can see planned orders created on 03/05/2014 and 03/05/2015.
HELP!
Did you use NETPL? I think you used NETCH during MD02 run. Delete the planned order and re-run MRP with NETPL.

it worked
so NETCH will not consider the planning horizon and will plan all the way till 2years or 3 years...just like what LongTermPlanning does.
Only difference would be Long Term planning is a good simulative MRP tool.
These previous thread answered other questions on LTP. Thanks alot guys.
If you're interested, you can read from the link below to get a deeper understanding of the processing keys used for MRP run.
Check OPPR, I think it has higher precedence over OPPQ.

dear, there would be several reasons why MRP doens't generate planned orders and pur.reqs
first, did you use MD01 to run MRP ?
second, did you use MD05 to see the new MRP list?
third, is your material master data correct (MRP1-MRP4 views) for all your relevant products?

dear,
run SCAL, tick the radio button "Factory calendar", hit Glasses, find out the "US" in list, highlight it,
hit Calendar, highlight the 2012 year, hit the "Year" button
now you are able to calculate your 100 days - count all WORKDAYS from today (or date you need) - the last date you will get looks like your horizon
good luck!
P.S. and take into account the MRP1-MRP4 data from your material master, say for example, Planning calendar (MRP2 view) and Planned Deliv. Time...
