Shipment cost on per truck basis

Hello,

I have a requirement where Transporter freight conditions are entered in per truck basis instead of weight/distance usually used .The Calculation base is per truck. Now truck/container  is not a standard base unit of measure.I would appreciate your inputs on this.

This means, the rate is fixed for the truck.  So your Calculation Type should be B for that shipment cost condition type and maintain the condition record in TK11 accordingly.

Hello,

For each Delivery how many Trucks do you have? Or is it one truck per one Handling Unit?

In additional to what Lasdhmipathi has suggested above, you can also use Freight Costing Tab in Shipment Condition Type. Some of the options available there are Delivery, Delivery Item, Handling Unit, etc.

Thus you can have a Calculation Type as B i.e. Fixed per Truck & then actual cost is calculated based on number of Trucks in a Shipment Cost Document.

Thanks,

Thank you  Jignesh & lakshmipati,Here the rates are fixed as per Trip basis or Truck basis,If I maintain fixed costs per truck, which is not a standard Unit of measure How do I maintain the price unit in truck in freight condition  and secondly if there are more than on trucks,Where i can maintain that multiple in shipment document so that my rates/Truck are multiplied by number of trucks?

Secondly I am not clear on "you can also use Freight Costing Tab in Shipment Condition Type" where is this freight costing tab,In shipment or shipment costs docuemnt and how do i use this?

Thank you for your inputs.

Who said this is not a standard ?  If you maintain the calculation type as B for any condition, in pricing condition, tab "per unit" will be grey.  This means, whether the shipment is per trip or per truck, whatever amount you maintain here, that will be fetched.

Hello,

Go to IMG - Logistics Execution - Transportation - Shipment Costs - Pricing - Pricing Control - Define Condition Types

Select the Shipment Cost Condition Type in your case & maintain B in Calculation Type (as suggested by Lakshmipathi above).

Below that you have option for Freight Costing. You can use use this setting for multiple trucks. Say if one Handling unit is transported in one  truck & there are 4 Handling units (which means 4 trucks) then maintain C - Handling units here. System will automatically multiple your Fixed Price * 4 trucks.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,
