How to Assign the existing objects to the new package.

Hello All,

We have created a bunch of objects with temp package(Local Object). I think if we don't have exclusive Package assigned, we will have problem during transport to QA/Production System.

I have created new package using Tcode SE21.

Need your help/inputs to find out how we can assigned the existing (BW)objects like Info object/Info cube/DataSource etc to the new package. I came across Tcode: SE03,but not sure how one can use that.

Appreciate any help/input in this regard.

Hi,

You need to create the new transport request through transport connection and check you have option there to change the pacakage.

Hi Satish,

1. Call T:Code RSA1> Transport connection> Search for your object
2. Drag/drop the object to the left side of the screen, choose Collection and Grouping mode > Click on truck symbol > Choose the required Package name > Save
3. Now release this transport request and get it imported to further systems.

Hope this helps.

Sai

Hi,

you can either open the objects in change mode and in the menu options choose Other -> Obj. Directory Entry -> Change package name and save, it will automatically ask for a transport.

or, you can use RSA1 -> tranport Connection -> drag drop the objects and click on transport connection, a pop-up will automatically come up, here you can change you package.

Hi Satish

When you attempt to collect the objects you created into a transport request, using the transport workbench or manually, you will first be asked to enter a package name and then a transport request number - so you can enter the package name at that stage. No special settings/procedures are required.
