ERROR WHEN UPGRADING SAP SOLMAN7.1 TO SP04

Former Member

Hi SOLMAN gurus,

I'm facing a severe problem:

We are upgrading our SOLMAN instance to SP04 as mentioned to be able to fix the error with Maintenance Optimizer described here (http://scn.sap.com/thread/2137868) but it got stuck at some point of the installation apparently because it lost connection with the DB.

It got stuck in the IMPORT phase, the problem is that when I try to log in to the GUI and re-start the process, I'm getting the error described in note Note 1585864 - Dynamic call of BAdIs in user environment andthe GUI crashes. I believe it had not imported of the fixing modules SAPKB70208 and SAPKB70209 yet.

How can I fix this, please? I cannot use the application any more. Is there a way I can re-start the upgrade process without the GUI?

I'm attaching the log files of the import that crashed along with others.

Here is the extract of log file SLOG1213.SOL (I cannot attacht it):

Hi Raul,

May be you need to try applying the patch using R3trans command.

THanks,

Jagadish.

Hi Jagadish,

Thanks for the answer, I'll check how that can be done. Do you have any indication?

Regards. Raúl.

Hi Raul,

Please check the below link,

http://scn.sap.com/thread/727388

You can use the command with some risk factor in it... But if SAP suggests in a message .. you can use happily.

tp r3i <SPPATCHNAME> <SID> pf=<transport profile> tag=spam

Example tp r3i SAPKB70014 <SID> pf=<transport profile> tag=spam

Thanks,

Jagadish

Thanks, Jagadish, I'll try. In any case I'll have to start over from my backup if it does not work, so I have nothing to loose.

It worked, Jagadish. Thanks a lot!

First I tested it with the transport oder that failed and caused the crash and it ran fine ("SAPK-101AGINSOCO"), then I imported the "SAPKB70208" as explained in the note.
