Hi,

In Linux environment what is the procedure for applying the patches?

How to use the SDBINST/SDBSETUP commands?

Thanks in advance ..

Hi,

Steps to do maxdb upgarde:

Copy maxdb dvd to locally / mapped drive & uncar it.

1> Stop R3 system first

2>Check current version of maxdb upgarde

login into the system on DB host.

A. Switch to sqd<sid>.

B. Enter the command “sdbuninst –l”

3> Stop the database

4> Login to DB host using root user

enter the command

./<Mounted Drive> /<DB version>/MAXDB_LINUX_X86_64/ SDBUPD –d <SID> -u control,<password of control>

(This should be done as user root and not as sqd<sid>)

5> Once upgarde is over just check again db version  & verify the registry

6> start R3 system.

I hope these step are helpful to upgrade.

Thanks Premsukh,

To upgrade the database from 7.6 to 7.7, i have to download the files from

SAPMAXDB---> DATABASE PATCHES --> MAXDB64BIT --> MAXDB 7.7  64BIT.

This will upgrade the my database to the 7.7.

Please clarify.

Hi,

Is your system 32 bit or 64 bit. Please check OS and download accordingly.
