start with different profiles on different nodes

Hi all!

i have ecc5.0 on Solaris 10 in cluster (cluster software: Sun Cluster 3.2)

A permanent server on which the dialog instance working have 32G RAM

Node where dialog instance moved have 16G RAM.

I want use profile parameters on DI for 32G but when instance moved using profile parameters for 16G .

How can i start DI instance with different profiles on different nodes?

Cluster software have paths to startsap scripts.

Maybe edit startsap scripts?

is there any harm from the change?

for example:

if hostname_32G

start with 32G_profile

else hostname_16G

start with 16G_profile

Hello,

One thing to consider, should you do this, is that startsap / stopsap scripts are delivered with each ne kernel release.

You would have to modify the scripts each time you patch the kernel.

Hi,

Its not possible to start an dialog instance with a different startup profiles.

During the installation the sapinst creates these profiles and the user inputs givne during that time

decides the memory and instance specfic details.

Refer this SAP note

809477    startsap/stopsap for SAP WebAs 640, 700, 701, 710, 711, 720

But i don't understand why i can not change startsap script manually? In order to use a copy of the profile with the parameters for the node moving.
