Delimiting Infotype 17 deletes trip history of the employee.

HI Experts,

We have a requirement by the client that the employees travel history be accessible after he is terminated. but when we delimit the infotype 17 during the termination action, no trips are being displayed in PR05 for the employee.. and if we do not delimit IT 17 then we are able to create new trips for the terminated employee. My question is can we do some modification so that PR05 only displays trips without giving the option to change or delete trips for our terminated employee...

Thanks

Kahn.

Hi Khan,

Unfortunately there is no such option, tr. PR05 is not proposed to be used as a report tool only, so it's prohibited to display trips of unauthorized person. However you can use any of the standard reports for this purpose, e.g. S_AHR_61016401 - General Trip Data/Trip Totals. Here you can review trips history per employee in designated period etc.

Normally system check active/inactive status of employee. So if employee is not active no trip can be created or changed.

Delimite IT0017 is not necessary from my point of view

If we dont delimit Infotype 17, and terminate the employee, the employee is unable to create any new trips or change trips  with trip start and end date that fall after the termination date, but the employee is able to create or change a trip if the trip end date lies before his termination date.

For example: If the employee was terminated on 04/15/2012, he cannot create a new trip with an end date of 04/16/2012, but he can create a new trip with an end date of 03/31/2012, similarly he can change any trip, where the trip end date is before 04/15/2012(termination date). Is there any way we can stop this. Please Advice.

The report option will not work for the client as they need to be able to view the attachments for the trip for terminated employees as well.

Hi Siegfried,

You can delete travel related roles from employee's profile, so they wouldn't be able to create a trip.
