length of material number exceeds current settings

Hi

When we try to convert the UOM (for example KG to NOS.) in planning book for a specific material in DP, we get the following error "length of material  number exceeds current settings". And the next step, you are out of the planning book. The strange part is this error is appearing for only few users and not all users. Have any one come across this issue earlier wrt Planning book. Also let me know if you require further information.

Hello,

Please check:
1)In RSD1, for your product characteristic (9AMATNR or your customizing characteristic), the 'Output Length'.
2)In transaction /sapapo/omsl, the 'Product No, Length'

The above two should be consistent (the same).

And also for 1), not only the product characteristic, you'll need to check all characteristics and navigation attributes used in the POS. If they have conversion routien 'PRODU' in RSD1, the output length should also be consistent with setting in /sapapo/omsl.
