there is any possibility to maintain same number range to inquiry and sales order.

i want to create sales order with same number of inquiry.

plz give solution for this problem.

Let us assume, you have the following number range objects.

Obj.    From       To
10      1000      2000

Is it that your requirement is to have continuous number range for both inquiry and sale order ?  That is if you generate an inquiry with a reference number as 1000 and subsequently, if you generate sale order, it should be 1001 ??

If your requirement is as explained above, then you need to assign the same object to both order types in VOV8. 

On the other hand, if your requirement is to have different objects but with the same number range, then it is not possible in standard.  That is if you try to maintain as follows

Obj.    From     To
10     1000     2000
20     1000     2000

then, system will pop up an error "Enter intervals without overlap" which means, you cannot assign the same intervals to a different object.

Hi,

if you want create inquiry and quotation with same number range , you can do it by assigning number range (internal or external ) in sales document type.

ex: if you assign number range XX from 1 to 1000.

you can assign XX to IN and QT.

when you create inquiry and quotation , the number follows like 1,2,3..etc.

its not possible to have same number for enquiry and sales order.

sales documents have unique number to differtiate with each other.

as you said , if you have same document number for inquiry and sales order, how would you differetiate ?
