Hiiii,

Has anyone implemented XI 7.0 instead of recommended XI 3.0, has there been any limitation that you are aware with 7.0?

Hi Kris,

we're using an XI 7.0 in our local test landscape for MDM, too. So far there have been no issues, problems, limatations, errors,... It's working fine.

Happened to read that XI 7.0 does not contain MATMAS03 message type, do that means XI 7.0 cannot connect to SAP APP 4.6C

Where did you read that PI 7.0 does not have MATMAS03?

This is not true, you can import idoc definitions from any SAP R/3 system in your scenarios.

Hi Kris,

XI 7.0 is called as PI 7.0 (Process Integration).

XI 3.0

1. J2Se adapter engine was replaced with J2EE Adapter Engine.

2. BPM was available from XI 3.0

3. Part of Netweaver 2004

PI 7.0

1. XI renames as Process Integration

2. Part of Netweaver 2004s.

3. Has all features of XI 3.0 and every SP of Pi 7.0 has a corresponding release for XI 3.0.

4. Runs on WAS 7.0 and has same features as XI 3.0.
