Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.0.0 - Production, incorrect version displayed

Hi everybody,

I have installed SAP Netweaver 7.0 Ehp1 (Windows 2008 Standard - Oracle 11gR2 "11.2.0.2"), in sqlplus I got the correct version of Oracle, but in System Information appears "Oracle (Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.0.0 - Production)" Also the systems has Oracle client 10.2.0.5.

I have read in some notes and forums that this is an oracle bug but with oracle client 10.2.0.4 v4 and higher the error doesn't appear.

But oracle client 10.2.0.5 is installed!!, do you any idea how to correct it?

thanks.

Dear Andrea,

Please check initSID.ora  and check *.compatible= , if you find any other version make changes in it.

Hi Abhijiy

I have this value *.compatible='11.2.0', Oracle version is 11.2.0.2.

I think it's correct?

Hi Andrea,

The value of the parameter compatible is correct.

With regards to the problem of Incorrect version of Oracle being shown in sysinfo page though relates to odbc and jdbc drivers. You should probably try updating the jdbc drivers as per the Note 915079 - J2EE on Oracle: Updating the JDBC drivers

Please let us know if this solves the problem.

Hi Venky,

I reinstalled Oracle Client 10.2.0.5 according to sapnotes 998004, 915079, using the installation DVD of Oracle client. But I got the same result it appears an incorrect version of oracle. In order to remind you, I installed SAP NW 7.01 on Windows 2008 with Oracle 11gR2 using Oracle Client 10.2.0.5 installation DVD 51041742.

Also, I have another system SAP NW 7.02 on AIX with Oracle 11gR2, Here I used the same Oracle client 10.2.0.5 (installation DVD 51041742) and it appears the correct version of Oracle in System Information.

I don`t know what could the cause be. Does anybody have any idea?

Thanks
