Hi,

I am planning to learn Gentran.How easy is to learn Gentran? What are the software costs?

Can you suggest me some good book or links for learning gentran?

Hello Krishen

I have worked in integrating SAP and Gentran, what exactly are you looking for in Gentran.

My exp. is that Gentran is very simple and easy to learn. What version of Gentran do you plan to learn.

Are you going to be integrating SAP and Gentran or trying to move from SAP to Gentran.

I would say try to focus on EDI in general. Gentran is a great sub-sytem and is used by quite a few. Sterling commerce is the company that owns Gentran.

But if you already work in SAP , I would suggest you to stick to SAP and learn Gentran etc.

Gentran is just one of the many 3rd Party EDI subsystems being used.

SAP XI kind of replaces that, but right now there are more SAP-GENTRAN projects then XI projects.

But that can change with SAP putting in a lot in XI.

ANy more doubts.

could you explain me the end end process to implement an integration between Gentran ,SAP XI and SAP R/3?

do you have any info about Gentran like links or docs more of relating to SAP XI or R/3? <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>,I really appreciate your help.

I am more interested in integrating Gentran with SAP XI.so please provide me if you have info.
