Hi,

I installed a new SAP system with MaxDB 7.6.03.09 media and then I downloaded the latest patch 7.6.06.22 to update it.

Runing SDBUPD I got the following error:

error occured while executing /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -R /sapdb/ADT/db inst_reg -k /sapdb/ADT/db

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -R /sapdb/ADT/db inst_reg -k /sapdb/ADT/db: ERR

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -R /sapdb/ADT/db inst_reg -k /sapdb/ADT/db: -24913,ERR_SERVICEDB: Cannot register service database instance for /sapdb/ADT/db

MaxDB instance update exited abnormally at Mo, Mar 19, 2012 at 13:44:34

Any advice on how to fix ?

Thanks.

Regards,Nelis

ps. I would usually use google but answers don't point to where they should anymore and I get blank pages.

Found that the permissions on /var/lib/sdb were also incorrect, change to sdb:sdba and update went through fine.

Hi,

I found what probably caused this issue where the permissions were not set correctly for /sapdb during the installation which I have now corrected. Not sure how to proceed further though ?

Thanks.
