Hi All,
Earlier consultation with SAP, their recommendation is that we upgrade our basis SP to 22(we are currently on 20 on XI), in order to run the program RSXMB_DEL_TO_ARCH to archive/delete entries.
My query is whether we need to upgrade any Java stack as a pre-req to updating the abap stack, to date we have not applied any SPs to the XI servers.
Are there any additional checks we can perform to verify if any SAP standard objects have been modified and are likely to be overwritten?
Thanks,
Amit S Patil
Hi Amit,
It would be good if you upgrade your SPs with Support pack Stack. You will get all the information and content to download from Support pack stack as per the usage type in Service Market place. This gives proper information.
Thanks,

Hi,
Ideally in a double stack like XI, it's best to apply SPs to both ABAP and Java stacks. You could avoid inexplicable errors by keeping both ABAP and Java at same SP levels. Also patching Java stack is not a prerequisite for ABAP patching. You could perform the Java SP update afterwards.
Best to perform the update first on your DEV system, during the SPAM patch process itself the SPDD and SPAU adjust phases will let you know if there are any modified objects in your system and how to handle the same. Then move on to your quality and production systems.
