Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have installed SAP Solution Manager 7.1 on Windows 2008 server 64bit ans MS SQL Server.

SLD is active and I can access to it with 50000/sld adress and I can see my Solman servers defined on it (with RZ70).

SLDCHECK is OK.

RFC are OK (SAPSLDAPI)

Connection test on SAPSLDCUST  is OK too (with SLDAPIUSER user).

But, when scheduling LANDSCAPE FETCH job with SMSY_SETUP, it failed :

"The SLD server connection is inactive"

Thanks for your help.

Chris

Hi Karthik,

so I let the job SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 runs (percentage increases, no problem) and I can begin Basic configuration.

What process will add system in SMSY? Job SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 too?

To understand, I can begin Basic Configuration steps but I will be able to do the last step (automatic configuration) only when job SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 will be finished (if this is this job that add system in SMSY)?

Hi Chris,

6.5 setup LMDB is percentage increases, then no issue.

try to execute basis configuration step.

For RFC creation in managed system,

Refer http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/Solution+Manager+7.1 - managed system configuration.

if any issue, revert back.

Hi Karthik and Naor,

I'm doing SOLMAN_SETUP => system preparation.

I did the CR Content Upgrade and now the job SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 is running to synchronise SLD and LMDB.

Do I need to wait the end of this job before complete system preparation?

I ask you this question because I'm not sur I have to "Start Migration from SMSY to LMDB" after SLD & LMDB synchronisation.

Is is an option or do you have to do it?

Hi Chris,

After activate in 6.5 setup LMDB, check the synchronization percentage.

Don't do Start Migration from SMSY to LMDB" after SLD & LMDB synchronisation..

It get automatically system added in smsy.

If LMDB synchronization percentage not increasing. delete the entry in 6.5 step. again create and activate it.

llel do the basis configuration , except last step automatic configuration. once system added in smsy. start the automatic configuration in basic configuration step.

In system preparation, step 6.5 setup LMDB, help to syn the satellite system to solman throu

SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 job.

before start check the Note 1625376 - SAP CR CONTENT update in SAP Solution Manager and upgrade the CR content to latest version solman SLD portal.

HI

First after you install the system you need to configure SOLMAN_SETUP

you have to do it

Naor

SLDAPICUST is now OK. I have re-recorded SLDAPIUSER password and unlocked it.

SLDCHECK is OK.

But LANDSCAPE FETCH job is still KO (SLD Server is not active)

Former Member

Naor,

I did it (se38) but the result is KO :

The SLD Server connection is inactice

Is it normal that it tries to capture data from LMDB?

Dear chris

first check you in Modify

and yes you need to select all, The "Groups" pane should show one entry named "Everyone

and then press save

it's give permission to the SLD and then you need to restart the cluster so that JMS and applications using it can reliably reinitialize

i heved this problem before and i solved it like that

so it's need to help you i hope

best regards

It is still the case.

I have "all" in security role pane and "Everyone" in Groups pane (I can't select it).

After retarting, I have the same problem.

Hi Naor,

I can't find exactly what you describe :

5. Select the "Security Roles" tab => OK

6. Select the "clients" node from the security roles list => OK

7. You should see on the right hand side "Security Roles" list in which the "guests" node is marked => on the mapping "Users " on the right hand side, I have nothing and I have SAP_J2EE_ADMIN in "Groups"

8. Switch to edit mode by pressing the change button on top (pencil icon). The "Modify" button should now become active

9. Press the "Modify" button

10.Select the "all" entry from the "Security Roles" list. The "Groups" pane should show one entry named "Everyone" => Do I need to be in "Security role" or "Role reference" section? In "Security role" section, I have nothing

11. Press the "Save" button

12. Restart the cluster so that JMS and applications using it can reliably reinitialize.

HI

You need to be in the Role reference section and choose there the group ALL from the Security role

***inside or under the Role reference you hae Security role**

So I have selected Clients and "all" entry in "security role" (under "Role reference") and I pressed "Save" button.

What is it supposed to do? Because I just select on entry and save, without changong anythig !!

One more detail.

The system corresponding to my Solution manager system in SLD is uptodate.

Since my SP level update (component ST from 0 to 4 for example), informations have been updated in SLD to (with RZ20 i suppose).

So, it seems that ABAP can communicate and connect to SLD to update information with RZ20, no to retrieve information (SLDCHECK/SLDAPICUST).

Very strange.

HI

But we need to now if the solution manager get data from SLD

try to do SE38 - SMSY_FETCH_SYSTEM_UPDATE - select system and check if it work

Did you check the user - SLDAPIUSER?

permission?

the RFC from the Visual Admin work?

Hi all,

I had not the correct ABAP mandatory assign for UME in Visual admin (UME Provider in Cluster tab AND in Global config tab).

Now, I did it.

But I can-t connect to SLD from ABAP (SLDCHECK or SLDAPICUST) :

Hi Chris,

Have you performed CR Content update in your SLD after the upgrade? Pls refer below note

Note 669669 - Updating the SAP Component Repository in the SLD

If not try updating the CR/CIM content of your SLD .

Hi,

I have applied SPS04 (ABAP and JAVA)

Now, when testing connection in SLDAPICUST transaction, I have new error :

Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server...

An exception has occurred:

Exception in SLD client: AbapSLDRequestHandler.ping(): server connection *** failed *** on Tue Mar 20 12:10:32 CET 2012

I have this error in SLD log (50000/sld) :

#29 03/20/2012 12:04:00.426 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_37] FATAL com.sap.lcr.cimsrv.CIMOMServlet: SLD initialization failure, can not set up cluster-wide event notification. Please check your JMS provider for errors.

Thrown:

com.sap.sld.api.wbem.exception.CIMException: CIM_ERR_FAILED: Failed to initialize cluster notification. Please check your JNDI service and JMS provider for errors.

Thanks for your help because I don't understand what happens.

Hi Chris,

Is your java up? Can you check in Visual admin -> Jco Providers -> check SLDAPICUST service and try restarting...

Thanks,

Jagadish.

Hi Chris,

Adding to above points ..

Please run the solman setup and in the SLD setup what is the status. Whether the connection to SLD is active?

Moreover run LMDB and check if you can sync the content from SLD?

THanks,

Jagadish.

HI Chris

Try the following procedure:

Change the mapping of the "clients" jms role as follows:

1. Start the Visual Admin

2. Browse the tree in the left pane

<SID> -> Server 0 -> Services -> Security Provider

3. The "Policy Configurations" tab should be selected by default on the right hand side

4. Select the "service.jms.default.authorization" node from the "Components" list (should be the nineth entry from the top down)

5. Select the "Security Roles" tab

6. Select the "clients" node from the security roles list

7. You should see on the right hand side "Security Roles" list in which the "guests" node is marked

8. Switch to edit mode by pressing the change button on top (pencil icon). The "Modify" button should now become active

9. Press the "Modify" button

10.Select the "all" entry from the "Security Roles" list. The "Groups" pane should show one entry named "Everyone"

11. Press the "Save" button

12. Restart the cluster so that JMS and applications using it can reliably reinitialize.

Other possibilities may be:

Have you configured your SLD as this:

1. Open Visual Admin->Server0->Service->SLD Data Supplier

2. In the CIM Client generation settings tab have you maintained the following:

a. Host

b. Port

c. User

d. Password.

Check your SLD Data Supplier under Visual Administration. Renter your User-id and password and then save and test the connection.

It should work if the other parameters are fine.

Thanks for your answers.

I will give you  the result of sldcheck and I will try your differents procedure but from 8 a.m, import of SPS04 (ABAP side) is running so I can't do anything.

When I launch a transaction, it fails (syntax error in program SAPLURFC)...I hope it is normal during import !!!

Hi Naor,

I have applied your procedure.

The job fails again.

Hi Chris,

Please perform the System Preparation and the Basic configuration
tasks for the system via the transaction Solman_setup.

More details on the configurations needed can be found in the

Execute Tcode LMDB
- Select system
- Select 'Maintain' button
- Select 'Next' until yo get to Step 6: 'Maintain Destinations'
- Select 'RFC Maintenance' button

Also set "Enabled Status" to Active and check the error continues,

Hi,

it seems, sld is running , but your solution manager system not able to connect the sld server.

try out all

1) execute tcode sldcheck, any error on this, try to login to the sld , any where authorization related warnings

2) execute tcode sldapicust, there you test your service user auth, if its fine, whether password maintained proper .

if thats also success please paste the result of sldcheck here.

Thanks

RFC ping was successful

SLD server access settings:
  host name:   HQ-SAP-SMD
  port number: 50000
  user       : SLDAPIUSER
Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain the SLD server access data
Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window...
=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!

Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...

Hi,

sldcheck saying "No business system mainatained in SLD", if your solman connected to sld atleast you should have entry for own system itself as business sytem s t?

Hi Jansi,

As far as I know , the SLDCHECK seems to be fine.. You need Business systems only in case of XI.

Solution Manager system will be inside Technical systems in SLD.

THanks,

Jagadish.
