Stop release before budgeting is done

Hello All,

I want to setup the system so that System does not allow project release till Budgeting is done?

And i am trying to achieve this via user status and here is what i did:

I created a status without status number --> In transaction control i selected Budgeting (Forbidden and next action set) AND selected RELEASE (with Influence ALLOWED  and next action No Action)... but with this even after i do budgeting system does not allow Project Release??

Any suggestions on how can this functionality be achieved?

Hi Jatinder,

Create a default user status which will forbid release and get RESET on Budgetting.

Hi Shrikant,

I acheved the desired function partially with the following:

Create a user status profile for WBS say 'Check'

Status Number : 1; Status ID: RelN; Initial Status: Yes; Lowest: 1; Highest: 2

                     Business Transaction: Release - Forbidden & Next action 'No Action'

Status Number : 2; Status ID: BudG; Lowest: 2; Highest: 2;

                     Business Transaction: Budget - No Influence & Next Action Set

                     Business Transaction: Release - Allowed & Next Action Set

With this system stops release before budgeting, but even after budgeting system alows me to release only WBS elements and not Project def (PD), i have to manually change uder status from PD; any suggestion to also automatically reset user status for PD once budgeting is done??

Hi,

I think you should be using only 1 user status to achieve both. As stated in earlier reply, the status will block release and once budgetting is done it will be RESET automatically. In transaction control we can also reset user status as we set it based on business transaction.

I have already tried following as well:

Created one user status with initial status flag set; then i maintained following:

                     Business Transaction: Budget - Forbidden & Next Action Set

                     Business Transaction: Release - Allowed & Next Action Set

Now system does not even stop release?

Can you please share some more details on how to setup this scenario.

Business Transaction: Release - Forebidden

Dear Shrikant,

Solution works partially... with this the status for WBS elements is getting deleted once i assign Budget to WBS, but for Project defination the status is not getting deleted.

Any idea how we can delete the user status from PD also automatically??

Hi Jatinder ,

Dont assign any status to project definition. It is of no use there.
