In the old forums, I used to be able to create a hyperlink by simply typing. E.g.;
The link to google. If I wanted google to be hyperlinked, I could type;
[google|http://www.google.ca/] and the word google was automatically a hyperlink. I know in Jive there is a the Icon . But is there a way to do this "freehand" as there was in the old forums?
Hi Ludek,
I'm afraid the discussions editor is HTML based so there's no shortcuts to inserting links.
The link inserting tool is pretty powerful, however: you'll notice the three tabs that let you insert an external link or content from the site via search or a recently viewed freed. What's really nice about linking to content within SCN is that you don't have to write the link text first: when you select select something it automatically adds the name of the content/space/person hyperlinked. It will also get a content relating icon, like this:

OK. Thank you very much for the answer. Your explanation of an alternative is excellent. But here is what I would like to do. In the old forums I had a signature saved in notepad like this:

Got Enhancement ideas? Try the [SAP Idea Place|https://ideas.sap.com/community/products_and_solutions/crystalreports]
A quick CTRL C / CTRL V in notepad to forum and voila, the SAP Idea Place was hyperlinked.
From your description, it looks like this is not possible in Jive(?). No big deal if not, but it's nice to know.

No...not possible in Jive. But you can copy and paste from word as is .
Here's a test where I copied the text as is from MS Word:

In case you do not know, there is a new feature in Jive that allows you to easily link to people, places, and content. It is called At Mentions. To do this simply enter the at-sign @ immediately followed by the thing you are looking for. Here I will at-mention . Pretty cool. This only works for links within the Jive system. External links will still need to be entered as you have discussed above.
