Dear all,

SAP PLM 7.01 has its own mailing system that is you can use the functionality for sending emails. I also came across Netweaver product called universal worklist. I heard that it has same functionality of SAP Inbox and used on Portal. Can you please clarify following points.

1) What is the benefit of UWL vs SAP Inbox?

2) What configurations will be required to integrate SAP PLM 7.01 and UWL?

3) What are the capabilities of UWL? (Presentations/Demo)

Thanks and Regards,

Sandeep

Hi Sandip,

Universal Worklist(UWL) provides a common platform for executing all your SAP(SAP inbox, collaboration tasks, notifications) and non-SAP(Outlook,Lotus notes) related tasks from a common location.Hence, its important to know that UWL is not a replacement for SAP inbox.UWL,in fact, offers a host of other features and SAP inbox mgmt is just one of them.

More information on UWL is available on Online Help and FAQ section.Hope this helps.

Dear Pradeep,

Thanks for this clarifications. Can you please ellaborate its functionality with respect to SAP DMS and PLM 7.x?

I mean whether we need to do some configuration to link DMS or PLM7.x with UWL.

Also its standard functionalities and usages with respect to DMS or PLM7.x

What are its advantages over SAP Inbox?

Can user use subscription functionality for getting email alrerts for DIR status change?

BR,

Sandeep
