RFC Sender has stopped working

Former Member

Hi all

We had a R/3 to XI system running in production, using an RFC sender communication channel in XI.

I was called in because the communication had stopped in Production, and found it has also stopped in DEV and TEST systems.

The XI system is not registering at the gateway (SMGW shows no connections), so testing from SM59 in the R3 system fails. Interestingly, it waits for over 5 minutes before returning an error message.

Over the weekend there were problems in R3, and the Production system was restored.

Also on the weekend, the XI box with DEV/TEST and PRD instances of XI was shut down, backed up and restarted (this has not happened for a while).

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I could check to see why XI is not registering as a server program on the R3 gateways?

Is there a service in XI which needs to be running?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael ,

you face these when resart the R/3 system. please inactive our RFC adapter and activate it. after activating our RFc adapter check in SMGW that it all regarister gateway entries.

If you still have any doubts please reply back . award points if this sloves our problem

Thanks

Maybe the instances now run on different servername ?

In this case now you have to point to the new server name in the CC where gateway host and service are specified.
