use tape backup to clone a SAP system with a different SID?

We want to restore an on-line backup to a new server.

Then we want to bring it up with a different SID.

Would anybody provide the procedure to do it on SQL server?

Hello

You can do this a number of different ways depending on what release of SAP you are using.

If you specify more detail in this post I can be more specific. You should also state if this is R/3, ERP or BW etc.

I know the homogeneous DB copy. But

I think it is too slow.

I am looking for a way that is at DB level manipulations to clone

BW, ECC and NW04s on SQL server.

Please provide details. Thanks!
