Could you please differentiate amongst the following XI desination:

1) XI Developer

2) XI Consultant

3) XI Architect

<b>XI Architect:</b>

- Focus on experience on previous projects

- Convert business/functional requirements in technical specifications

- Prepare the solution Roadmap

- Design the integration process

- Pass technical specification to XI developers

<b>XI Developer:</b>

- starts from technical specification

- create design and configuration objects- execute unit tests

- support integration/stress tests

- document the developments

<b>XI Administrator:</b>

- Install and configure XI server

- Create SLD objects.

- Schedule and check maintenance jobs (archiving, deletion, tuning)

- Assign user roles/auth.

- Create CMS Transport Track

<b>XI Consultant:</b>

depending on the role it could be a developer, an architect or an administrator but generally it is an architect with developments skills as well, and overall a great experience.

XI Architect will design the overall architecture of integrating different applications usign XI. He'll decide everything like what adapters to use, what protocols to use and how the data will flow thorugh XI, whether to use BPM or not and also how to handle error handling.

XI Developer will be mostly developing the XI integration content like DT, MT, MI, MM, IM etc and also configuration of scenarios in the dirrectory.

XI consultant could do both of these tasks, depending on the project. So he could be architect or dev or both some times.

Hi,

The XI Architect studies the requirement and flow of the interface and suggest, That is What Adapter and whether it is service with party or with out party and develops or helps to develop the Functional Document.

Where as XI Developer creates the namespace and develops the interface depending upon the Functional Specification and does the tesing in the Development environment.

When we move from Developer to Architect it will be great and we can create the Design and time estimation in very efficient manner.
