hi everyone,
i want to connect to sap r/3 via jco
may i get this below information from our SAP administrator ?
1) server name
2)port no
3)sap client
4)userid
5)password
6)system no

U can get all the above inforamation from visual administrator if u have access to it.
Lcoation is generally
...../usr/JCO/admin/j2ee/go.bat

If I understood you correctly, you want to use JCO to connect to R3 directly for special purpose, yes, definitely you can get all the connection information for the SAP administrator.
Of course they are also in Application Server. Check the connection configuration if you have appropriate privilege to access those info.

The parameter names are:
First is General Data:
Give the Destination Name-->Should be name of Jco
Client --> Client Number
Second is J2EE Cluster
Use local J2EE engine--> it will automatically will take the J2EE server details
Third is Connection Type
Choose Dictionary meta Data
Fourth is
Message Server Name--> Select the R/3 server name
Logon group--> You can choose public or space ( try space first)
Fifth is Security
Portal Details
that is it you have your JCo destinations ready to use.

You guessed it.
But please: It is no good style to do a connection directly. There is a way to connect woith the users credentials described in the manuals. Please use that method.
