What software tools or applications does SAP use that lets you "see" how the system is currently configured or set up, either by functional area or module and/or across business processes (multiple modules)? Ideally this would be at varying levels of detail.
Reason for question: A prospective SAP customer is asking how SAP documents all the changes made during an implementation so they can refer to it when they are "on their own" and their business forces them to change, which means new SAP configurations or updates to thier current SAP system. They would like to refer back to how the current system is set up as a starting point. Do they just have to remember?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Hi Brian,
I think you can find the best answer to your question if you refer to the NetWeaver Master Guide (especially section 2.2 Identification of your SAP NetWeaver
System Landscape). You can find it on Service Marketplace at: http://service.sap.com/nw04doc -> Planning (from the table in the main frame) -> Master Guide - SAP NetWeaver (click on the download link).
Also, after reading the stuff in this section of the Master Guide, I'm pretty sure you'd like to find out more about System Landscape Directory. So, here's a direct link to SLD's documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/31/f0ff69551e4f259fdad799a229363e/frameset.htm

Ivo
