Hi,

could you pls explain how deliveries are effected by factory calendars.

i mean if the customer requested delivery date is 10.2.07 and the system aslo confirms the same in schedule line, but on 10.02.7, there is a public holiday or there is a saturday, what does the system do and how does it do the calculation.

does during forward or backward scheduling, does factory calendar or holiday calendar has any role to play.

in the above example, if there is a public holiday or a saturday or sun, i want the system to confirm the next day. how to do that.

regards

sachin

Hello Sachin,

The scenerio which u have mentioned can happen if different 'Factory Calendar are attached to your plant and to your sales org and these calendars have different holiday list.

The Factory calendar at sales Org level is used for the sales order, whereas the factory calendar at the shipping point level would be used at the delivery level.

Now, though the system would confirm the date [say 10.2.07] in sales order but when u would be creating the delivery for the same if [10.2.07] is marked as a holiday in the calendar attached to the shipping point/plant, you would not be able to create the delivery on that particular day but only the next working day in the calendar.

You can check the

1. Holiday list for the calendar in the transaction: SCA4_U

2. Maintain the holiday calendar via transaction SCA5_U

3. Maintain Factory Calendar and assign the Holiday calendar to it via transaction SCA6_U

4. While creating/maintain Sales org/Plant/Shipping point, u assign the calendar to the same.

Sometime back, we had a problem with one of the customer where the Factory calendar attached to sales Org and Shipping point were different and having different holiday schedule which resulted in delivery not been created at a specific date, which was a holiday in the calendar attached to the Plant, but not a holiday in the calendar attached to the sales Org.

Gauravjit.

Hi Sachin,

As explained before you can goto transaction SCA6_U and can define your own calender. In this you can put sat,sun and public holidays as non working days and system would take the next date during the confirmation of schedule line.

Reward points if it helps.

If after calculating pick-pack times etc., system determines delivery date 12.10.2007 and 12.10.2007 to 15.10.2007 are holiday dates system re-determine delivery date to 16.10.2007. That's all.
