Hi Experts
I completed training in XI and doing the first phase requirements project
with client interview ....
My client asked us a typical question on XI like
Why XI not so popular? what are the disadvantages ?
What SAP AG doing to over come that ?
Why do you suggest to go for XI rather other middle wares?
Our client asked us to give all the details ? So that they will analyses which is
better ?
I hope you can understand our situation and help us how to bring our client to XI?
Awaiting for yours valuable suggestions
regards

Hey Kiran
as far as i think the biggest edge XI has over other middle ware tools is Central message transfer and monitoring.
it replaces the point to point message transfer wid central integration concept by channeling all messages to Integration server and from there it sends the messages to receivers.
and then u can monitor all the messages centrally using RWB and SXMB_MONI
one disadvantage which i think with XI is some constraints on time and complexity of BPM.
supose your are moving one file from one system to another without doing any kind of mapping, then XI might take a lot of time depending upon the file size.
thanx

Hi Kiran,
If your client is using SAP as their enterprise software then XI is the best middleware for that.
1. XI has "XIContent" readily available for many IDOC scenarios.
2. Its easy to communicate wiht R/3 both in sender side and receiver side.
For advantages over other mmiddlewares, go thro these threads:
