activate ssl for service frontend_print

Hi all,

we have an ECC 5.0 System, WebAS 6.40, and have activated the Integrated ITS with SSL in service SICF. We also activated the service frontend_print - to display a PDF document which can be printed on the local printer of the workstation.

The problem we face now is this: Integrated ITS and service frontend_print are configured to use SSL, but when the new window with the PDF document is opened, it displays a http-site instead of https. When I press "test service" at the frontend_print-service in SICF, it opens a https-site, only when the printing is started from the ITS it does not.

Does anyone have an idea what could solve this problem?

Hi Elvez,

I implemented SAP note 871004 and made the following entry in table HTTPURLLOC:

MANDT = <client which is used for ITS access>

SORT_KEY = 0001

PROTOCOL = HTTPS

APPLICATN = *

FOR_DOMAIN = *

HOST = <full qualified hostname>

PORT = <port no. I configured for https)

Then it worked. You just have to make sure that SORT_KEY=0001 contains the HTTPS protocol - otherwise, the system will use http as "first" protocol.
